I assume that the "1099" that you got is a Form 1099-NEC. The company that gave it to you is not your employer. You are in business for yourself, self-employed, an independent contractor. The company that gave you the 1099-NEC is your client, not your employer. You enter the income as business income in TurboTax, on the Business tab.
