Retirement tax questions
You need to enter the account into TurboTax so that TurboTax changes the check box for you.
Unless TurboTax knows about the account then it can't place it on the schedule B. You need to enter the
information about the foreign bank account into the TurboTax system.
If you will go to the wages and income section of your TurboTax account and scroll down to 'Interest and Dividends' you will find an option for "1099-OID, Foreign Accounts". Click on this option and go through the questions telling the system that you had signature authority over a foreign account. Then it will check box 7a for you.
