Roth IR Contribution MAGI Adjusted for Military Pension

Confusion still seems to be around if a military pension is included in the MAGI worksheet.  IRS Pub 590-A Says a military pension is not classified as income earned, and when I go to TurboTax, Federal Taxes, Deductions and Credits, it says I cannot contribute to my Roth IRA as I am above my max MAGI to make a contribution.  Yet, when I look in Turbotax, it says to look at line 7 on my 1040 to find my AGI.  Line 7 in Turbotax on the 1040 indicates Capital gain or (loss). I don't see anywhere my MAGI has been adjusted to back out my Military Pension to show a reduced MAGI to only show only earned wages.  Last post I read says this was fixed in 2020 version, but am not seeing the fix in the 2022 software, so wondering if the military pension is really backed out of MAGI calculations as is indicated in IRS Pub 590-A.
