@dmertz thank you. I just paid and downloaded the return to check. Here is what I see on Form 8606
- Line 5... $6000
- Line 6... empty
- Line 7... empty
- Line 8... empty although this seems odd because Line 8 is about Net amount converted from IRAs... it should show $6265. Something wrong here?
- Line 13...$6000 but does have an asterisk (asterisk is from taxable IRA distribution worksheet, which I cannot find anywhere in the return. Where can I find this?)
- Line 15a... 0
- Line 15c... 0 but does have an asterisk
- Line 16...$6265
- Line 17...$6000
- Line 18...$265 shows as the taxable amount. Assume Turbotax has already calculated taxes on this?
