Retirement tax questions
As long as your Form 1099-R shows a distribution code 'G' in box 7, then you should not need to file an amended tax return.
Reporting the transfer of funds from one 401k to another would not change your previously filed tax return. As long as no portion of the money was actually distributed to you, you should just keep the Form 1099-R with your records in the event that the IRS has any questions.
