If I made less than the federal taxable minimum, and my wife made well over the minimum. should we file jointly? do I need to claim that when I didn't receive a 1099?

I did not receive a 1099 for my income because it was bellow the federal threshold. do I need to claim it when filing jointly? is filing jointly the best option?
