Retirement tax questions
If the same income is repeated twice then it doesn't need to be reported twice. Having more income reported in a locality than you actually earned on the W2 would definitely stop the system from processing it. The total of all of the localities should match the gross income that you received.
If the first mention of the locality has the total amount that you received in that locality delete the subsequent mention. Then point out to your employer that the W2 has an error on it and they should have given individual job amounts to you as information but not reported it on your W2.
