All valid 1099s have an alpha identifier after it. If you are seeing one that is only labeled "1099" you are looking at a summary of multiple 1099s (usually 1099-INT, 1099-DIV, & 1099-B).
You will also need to delete the W-2 blank entry line on the W-2 Summary screen. Use the magnifying glass icon to search W-2 and use the Jump to link. Click the trash can icon to delete the unneeded W-2.
