Retirement tax questions
Yes, you are required to file Form 8606 with your tax return to report the basis of your non-deductible IRA contribution.
- Open or continue your return
- In the search box, type ira contributions and select the Jump to link at the top of the search results
- Select Traditional IRA
- Follow the screens to enter your IRA contribution
To check to see if Form 8606 is generated based on your entries:
- Go to Tax Tools >> Tools to open the Tools Center
- Click on Delete a form in the Tools Center
- Scroll down to locate the 8606 form (do NOT delete it)
