OR excludes military retirement pay for service before Oct 1991.
On the federal 1099-R entry: answer the questions indicating Federal Government Retirement and non-qualified plan distribution.
On the state:
- Go through to a page entitled "Here's income that OR handles differently".
- One of the categories will be the IRA and Pension Distributions.
- Edit
- Check the box that reads "I received federal pension for service before Oct 1991..."
- Continue
- See your federal pension, select Edit
- Enter the start and stop dates for your federal service in that interview.
