If I didn't get a 1099R should I fill out the replacement 1099-R, substitute form 4852, then file an amended return when I get the 1099R info?
I didn't get a 1099 R from my retirement distribution. The retirement office is closed. I filled out the 1099-R substitute using the information from last year's 1099R, put in the gross total I over-estimated was paid to me this year. I claimed no fed withholding and that the whole gross distribution was taxable. I don't have time tomorrow to sit on line and wait for the Retirement Office to answer my questions. Can I just file now with what I have and amend later?
