That really depends upon the trust and to what, precisely, you are referring.
There are trusts that are exempt from GST, not exempt from GST, and partially exempt from GST.
If you received a distribution from any kind of a trust that is taxable, you should also receive a tax reporting statement. If in doubt, contact the trustee.
