Since the amount of your repayment was $3,000 or less, you won’t be able to claim a deduction for your repayment.
Repayments of $3,000 or less used to be deductible on your return as a miscellaneous itemized deduction.
However, for tax years beginning after 2017, you can no longer claim any miscellaneous itemized deductions
