It depends.
- Go to my info section of your return and press edit next to your name
- In the page marked Your Personal Information>go to section 3 and see if the box is marked "yes" that says Someone else can claim me as a dependent on their tax return. Make sure this is a "no" answer.
- Also look through your selections when you claimed the AOTC, make sure you checked that you are at least a 1/2 student with no felony convictions.
