Turbotax placed my $600 stimulus check for 2020 (I got my second one in 2021) which increased my total tax paid above what I owed. Therefore, it calculated a refund. I file my return online through turbotax on 2/18/20. This week of May 2, 2021, I received a letter from the IRS saying I owed $265 instead of receiving a $335 refund. Now, what I need to know is which one is correct. I will never use turbotax again if I find they made a serious mistake. And to think I paid them $90 and cannot even talk to a human live voice to get a correct answer. I did the math, and that $600 placed on line 30 of the 1040SR return is the difference between a refund and a payment. Now, I do have to question which one is correct???????????
