Please understand that only the IRS controls the timing of refunds, and it can take as long as it wants or needs. Unfortunately, Congress keeps heaping more tasks upon the agency, but without any additional funding to fulfill them. And remember COVID? The IRS is still trying to catch up from a very lengthy shutdown.
