I am in a similar situation where I have received a 1099-NEC for a lawsuit settlement not related to back wages. I have tried your suggestion and continue to get the "Missing info" error. I cleared my Chrome history. I did not have a Schedule C, 1099-B, or schedule SE to delete. I deleted 1099-NEC worksheet and 1099-MISC/1099-NEC summary entries. I re-entered by 1099-NEC info and still same problem.
