Retirement tax questions
Did you take a loan or distribution? If you took a loan, you will not receive a 1099-R and do not need to enter anything other than your W-2 on your tax return. However, if you took a distribution (not a loan) from your 401K, you should have received a 1099-R that you must file as part of your tax return.
