Retirement tax questions
When I enter my 1099-R the way it was sent by my financial institution, with box 2a blank and box 2b checked, the final screen says that I reported a distribution of $0 but only have to pay taxes on 1/3 of it ($0).
If I change my 1099-R to match the way @macuser_22 has it, the final screen says that I reported a distribution of $30,000 but only have to pay taxes on 1/3 of it.
This is a serious error in TurboTax that almost cost me $12,000.
