If I did a backdoor roth conversion for a previous year, do I need to amend my previous year's return?
Timeline:
-July 13th 2020 Contributed 6000 non-deductible to Traditional IRA for 2019
-August 2020 converted 6000.09 to roth IRA (a backdoor roth conversion)
-If I did not report the contribution made on July 13th 2020 on my 2019 return, do I need to file an amendment for my 2019 return?
-Is this supposed to change my tax liability? How do I enter this in TurboTax so that it doesn't count it as additional income? otherwise TurboTax will say I owe more taxes.
