You can add Etrade to the list of brokers who also report this way. Its time for TT to get with the program and fix their software. Etrade puts ($XXX.xx) in the proceeds and $0.00 in the cost basis. This was done for all short options I made and lost money on. I have combed through all 91 of my stock sales and can confirm that they were imported from Etrade exactly like they read on my 1099-B.
I could do some adjusting but I shouldn't have to. I worry like others on here, that seems like a good way to trigger an audit. TT please fix!! I don't want to switch to another platform but I will if I have too!!!
Side thought: Maybe intuit should spend less money on lobbying and more money on software development....
