I talked to the Mississippi Department of Revenue yesterday. They said if Turbo Tax pulled income tax on your 1099-R from PERS when your distribution was marked 2 you overpaid your state tax because the state does not tax your PERS income. (No age limit for the state of MS retirement program) If Turbo Tax overpaid your state individual income tax you will have to file an amended return for each year you overpaid.
