Retirement tax questions
Your social card/number doesn't indicate whether or not you're married, but it may still have your maiden name. You could still file as married filing jointly, but you'd have to use your maiden name in doing so until you officially change your name if you intend to do that.
The IRS allows married couples to file jointly using the woman's maiden name. You'll need to file the return using your maiden name rather than your married name, if that's the name the SSA and IRS have on record.
