Retirement tax questions
Thank you so much for the response @macuser_22 , I really appreciate it!
She filed the return of contribution before the 15th, but they didnt execute it until after July 15th.
I tried to file an extension but saw after the fact that it was rejected due to an error saying we've already filed a return, but I see that may be due to the stimulus payment (hopefuly not identity theft).
Is it still a proper "return of contribution" if I didn't get an official extension and it didn't make the July deadline?
The custodian said that they won't generate the 1099-R until January, does that mean I have to file an amended 2019 return in January or can I enter it in myself manually with my filing this year?
ugh this is a nightmare, wish we would have just left the money in there. I know next time, but will probably never encounter this situation again...
Thanks!
