Retirement tax questions
you will need to notify your employer and have them file a corrected w-2 with the IRS... Because of this your return may be rejected and you may not be able to e-file. The corrected W-2 is a W-2C and it has to be filed by your payroll department.
Print your return and file by mail. Note go back to the w-2 screen (search field type W-2 and jump to the section) after the w-2 screen and you hit continue, there is a screen that says if this is a corrected w-2. Respond that it is and file it by mail....
Notify your employer ASAP to correct though. If there is a mismatch it will cause delays.
