Retirement tax questions

You will file a Schedule C to report your income and expenses from your self-employed work.  Since you will get a Form 1099-MISC, you are considered an independent contractor.

 

It is smart to plan ahead and keep track of your expenses throughout the year.  Take a look at the following TurboTax articles for some ideas about what expenses would apply to your situation.  Keep in mind this is just a guide and not a complete or restrictive list.
