Retirement tax questions

Form 1099-G could be issued for several reasons including: 

  • State or local income tax refunds 
  • Unemployment compensation 
  • Paid family leave 

You need to enter the amounts from your 1099-G on your income tax return. 

 

I have attached instructions to guide you with the input depending upon whether it was issued from an income tax refund, unemployment, or paid family leave.

If you had any of the items above but did not receive a Form 1099-G, you may need to contact your state to request a replacement copy.
