I received an rsu from my employer that vested. I chose the option of having them withold some shares to cover taxes but my 1099-B doen't show this. What do I do?
I'm trying tounderstand how to put my information from my RSU that I sold on my tax return without it trying to tax additional money. The option I chose when my RSU vested was to have sell the shares and have some taken out in order to cover the taxes. When I look at the 1099-B it shows the full amount that had vested, but mentions nothing of what was taken out to cover taxes. Everytime I enter the information in as provided, my tax return massively drops because it claims I never paid any federal tax with it, which isn't true, it's just that my company took out the amount to cover the taxes.
I noticed the RSU shows up on my W2. Do I still need to fill out the 1099-B since my work is having it show on my W2 and since they took out the money to cover the taxes?
