If the error just relates to your Worksheet and nothing else, then you can try deleting the Worksheet to remove the error. The Worksheet is not filed with your return; however, Schedule D and/or Form 8949 are filed with your return. Schedule D will provide a summary of your transactions whereas Form 8949 will provide the detail regarding those transactions, such as dates of purchase and sale, cost basis, sale proceeds, gain/loss, etc.
If you are using TurboTax online, to delete the Worksheet, follow these steps:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
- In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
