Reconciling number of RSU shares sold after a stock split

I'm running into a Smart Check error on a 2021 return about an RSU sale where the stock had split between purchase and sale, thus yielding different numbers of shares for the 2 transactions.

I started with the transaction details TurboTax imported from the brokerage. The check found "additional purchase information needed, X of Y shares have been accounted for. Need information for Z shares" (X is the number of shares released pre-split, and  Y is the number of shares sold after split).

TurboTax phone support suggested entering the transaction manually instead of importing it from the brokerage. Doing so prompts for the dates of acquisition & sale, sales price and cost basis. Then answering Yes when prompted whether the stock was RSU advances to a screen prompting for the date sold (box 1c) and number of shares. This information, reported on the stock plan transaction supplement from the broker, reflects the number of shares AFTER the stock split (Y in the above error message). Then after a couple of confirmation screens the Vesting/Release screen prompts for the total number of shares released (X above, which is BEFORE the stock split). The smart check finds the same error as when the transaction details were imported from the brokerage, namely that the number of shares in/out (which appear on lines 4 and 25 of the Employee Stock Transaction Worksheet) do not match.

How does one fix this error? Shouldn't TurboTax automatically line up numbers before and after stock splits which are public information?

Thank you!
