Nonresident State Tax Return for NJ Resident with Rental Properties in TN/TX and K1s in FL/TX/GA
Hello,
I live and work in New Jersey. But I do have a couple of investments outside of NJ:
- 1 single family rental property in Tennesse
- 2 single family rental properties in Texas
- I expect to receive a couple of K1s (Partnership through real estate syndication) in Texas, Florida, and Georgia. All these K1s should show a loss due to depreciation.
I know I have to file in Georgia. But my question is do I have to file nonresident state tax returns in TN, TX, FL?
When I use Turbo Tax, it is giving me the option below. Noticed that Florida is not included on the list.
However, when I clicked 'learn more', it's saying almost the same thing but the collection of states is different. Noticed that Tennesse is not on the list.
I am not sure what to follow.
Would appreciate any guidance or help that you can provide.
Thanks.
