Adjusting cost basis on 1099-B
@ nexchap I sold all my EPD shares in 2020. The shares were a mix of long and short period sales purchased over the previous 3-year period. I have read through all of the comments and have been able to zero out the capital gain in the interrogation so no K-1 data went to the 8949. Ordinary gain went to form 4797. I calculated my basis as you described in comments above. Now comes my problem. When I look for form 1099-B in TT, I only find a 1099-B worksheet with a separate page for every purchase/sale shown in Section I: Values for Form 8949. (I had imported the 1099-B from my Broker into TT.) There is a place for an adjustment amount and for an adjustment code for each listing. Am I missing something? Should I adjust each listing proportionally to end up with the correct total basis. What is the appropriate code for the adjustment to basis?
