Why do you believe this is the fault of TurboTax? Did you get a letter from the IRS? If so, what is the form number of the letter? It's at the top of the letter and starts with either LTR or CP followed by numbers. What exactly does the letter say?

If you e-filed the 2012 return through TurboTax, do you still have the page from the PDF titled "ELECTRONIC POSTMARK"? That page confirms both the date/time you sent it, as well as the date/time the IRS accepted it. If you don't have that page, then you never e-filed the return. (you will not have that page if you elected to print, sign and mail the return to the IRS)

TurboTax does not, can not and will not file a tax return for anyone by any means under any circumstances. There are no exceptions. You, and only you can file your tax return. If you elected to mail your return to the IRS, then only you can print, sign the return and put it in an envelope and mail it. If you elected to e-file the return, then only you can click that big orange TRANSMIT MY RETURNS NOW button to e-file the return. When e-filing, it's also your responsibility to check back to confirm that the IRS actually accepted the e-filed return.
