Thank you Volvo Girl.
I did load 2018 info into 2019 return.
The screen you direct me to starts with showing unrelated numbers - even if valid, they should populate the next screen - showing the Capital Loss Caryover as zero. Same for the amount used and the 2019 Carryover. NONE of these numbers showing as Zero can be changed. Seems to me that the system should at least show the later two - generated within the 2019 Return and worksheets.
I'm thunking ... that like data from a K-1 - the input is not shown in the traditional screens but accepted by the system and put on the return? What I think I need is to find that area of source data for the Capital Loss Carryover numbers.
I believe that the Capital Gain number of $2,605 shown on Line 6 of my 2019 Form 1040-SR return can be offset by the $3,000 current exclusion. Nothing in the worksheets provided address this issue or the Capital Loss Carryover.
But I'm in a pickle and cannot finish my return. It may be my fault and I understand the need for TT to direct me to the "Community", but it almost begs me to talk to an IT human being (after a human tax consultant looks at my problem).
Thank you for taking time to be part of the TT Community.
