I hired a management firm to take care of rental property. They gave me a 1099-MISC. Do I enter this amount on page 1 of the 1040 or on Schedule E as rental income?
I am not self employed so I don't have a schedule C. I only have the one rental property so I don't know how to record the income now that the rental company has sent a 1099.
