While this is a great thing your family has done for this family, there is no provision in the Tax Code to deduct this.
Charitable contributions have to be paid a charitable organization and this family is not one. You can't deduct part of your home as a rental as no rent was charged (and if charged it would have to be a fair market value). Sorry I don't have a answer you would like to see.
