Some states have a "renters credit". But you won't deal with that until you get to the state return, if your state is one such state. Even then, not all of those states that have a renters credit, allow it for land. You'll just have to see when you get to that point in whatever state program you'll be using to file your state taxes, if your state taxes your income.
