Investors & landlords
If you are self-employed, have health insurance in either your name or your business name and meet a few other requirements (including having net income on your Schedule C), you can deduct health insurance on Line 29 of your Form 1040.
To enter:
- Click the Edit button beside your business income.
- Under your business expenses, click on the Less common expenses button. Scroll down to Health Insurance Premiums and click on it. (See screen shot below).
- Click Continue and enter the information for your insurance.
