Do we need to claim income for a timeshare rental?
- If we have never rented out our timeshare before, do we need to claim the rent as income? We have two units... A studio (rented 5 nights) and a one bedroom (rented 1 night). Each is available for a 7 night stay (for the same week/time period). We did not receive a 1099 from the establishment.
- Also, can the fees (commission), be written off?
- If yes, what costs can be written off and which schedule.
Thank you for the help/guidance.
