I am having this issue as well, however, I also discovered through some other posts (e.g. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/e-file-state-return-federal/...) that a state return cannot be eFiled if you do not eFile the federal return first.
This seems to be a significant issue since I'm filing a New York state return where, according to NYS regulations, if you use tax preparation software like TurboTax to prepare your return you must eFile it. How am I supposed to handle this?
