Yes, you generally need to send a 1099-NEC form if you paid an established business more than $600 for services, including plumbing and electrical work. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Form 1099-NEC: This form is used to report nonemployee compensation. If you paid $600 or more to a business for services, you must issue this form
  2. Using TurboTax: TurboTax allows you to create and file 1099 forms. You can do this by:
    1. TurboTax Online
      1. Go to the Quick Employer Forms site.
      2. Sign in and follow the instructions to create forms.
    2. TurboTax Desktop
      1. To access existing Quick Employer Forms:
      2. Go to the Quick Employer Forms site and sign in.
      3. On the My Businesses page, select the name of the business you're working on.
