If I moved back into my house after renting it for part of the year and I make repairs to the floors to get it back to good condition, can I deduct the cost of repair?

Newly refinished hardwood floors one month prior to renting it out. It was rented out for 6 months of the year and needed refinished due to dog scratches and dents in the floor.
