Reporting sublet below fair market value
In 2023, I sublet my apartment for 6 weeks to a friend at a price that was lower than my rent (I pay $2,000 per month and sublet it for $1,800 per month). Given that I was still paying my rent (+ utilities), I have had no gain from this sublet. Should I report it in my tax return? If so, how? I am filing online with turbotax, and while I was thinking of using schedule E, I am not sure this is correct (I have read that below-fair-value rentals don't go in schedule E). Thanks!
