- Yes, it’s actually SSI. Not social security income. I’m aware that i don’t have to file because of SSI. I’m only wondering if I’d have to file a tax return for the tax forms I get from my banks & brokerages. It varies from 1099 INT to 1099B from stock trades. These financial gains don’t surpass $2k if I remember correctly.
