New basis for replacement property in 1031 like kind exchange were sold 5 properties and purchase only 1
In 2022, I sold 5 rental properties and did a 1031 like kind exchange where I purchased only 1 replacement property. I have entered all the information for the 5 sold properties under like kind area and when TurboTax asked me about the replacement property, I entered the same address and cost information 5 times. However, TurboTax does not recognize that it is the same property and each time, the "new property basis" is different. How do I get TurboTax to recognize that I did not purchase 5 different replacement properties or do I even need to worry about this? If I don't need to worry about this part, then how do I accurately calculate the replacement property basis to be used for depreciation when I enter the replacement property in the Rental Property income part of TurboTax.
