Thanks for your response, Thomas. It is 1099-B, not 1099-MISC. My brokerage firm sends a consolidated tax document with all 1099s, and I misread it as just 1099-MISC. Turbo Tax took 1099-B and populated under investment income. However, the brokerage firm didn't remove the margin balance as part of the cost basis. But, from what I get from your response, I should be able to subtract the margin balance from the sale.
