I am using mac desktop version of Turbo tax. I can not remove the American Opportunity Tax Credit (AOTC) from my tax return. I deliberately avoided the AOTC, but Turbo Tax added it in automatically at the end. I tried the following to remove it but failed:
1. Deleting form 8863 and p2 does not work. The form remains.
2. Remove 1098T. AOTC disappeared at first, but once I re-entered 1098T, AOTC reappeared again. 1098T is a must because we have 529 withdrawal.
Please advise.
