I am a phd student paid fellowship on 1098-T with 5K on W2. TT says my roth contribution is too high bc it is only including the W2 not my full fellowship. How do you fix
I put in my full fellowship and tution from my 1098-T and said this includes amount listed on W2 (which is just supplmental income becuase my fellowship didn't meet schools threshhold). I contributed the max to my roth ira which is over the 5K that is listed on my W2. Part of my fellowship goes to tution the rest is direct deposited to me. IRS says this should be taxable and can be included in roth ira. Is this a glitch in TT/how do you get TT to recognize it as income?
