Education

The education credits are calculated on form 8863. The refundable part of the American Opportunity Credit goes on form 1040 line 29 and the nonrefundable part of the AOC or the Lifetime Learning Credit( whichever you qualify for) goes on SCHEDULE 3 (Form 1040) line 19, then the total of nonrefundable credits goes on form 1040 line 20. 

To preview your 1040 in TurboTax online:

1. From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.)
2. Select Tax Tools 
   
3. On the drop-down select Tools 
4. On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary 
5. On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040
