Yes, there is a better way.
You can adjust the entry of the 1098-T but also be aware that you should look over your tax year 2023 return and make sure you did not use those expenses on your 2023 return to claim an education credit.
After you enter the 1098-T, finish that interview.
On the "Here's Your Education Summary" screen
Scroll to "Scholarships/Grants (for all schools)" select START or EDIT
Continue to the screen that asks "Did Your Aid Include Amounts Not Awarded for 2024 Expenses?"
Select YES and enter the amount of scholarship to exclude (the amount that was billed in 2023)
Be sure to go through and complete the entire education interview until you get to the "Maximize my tax break" screen
